Make it as simple or as complex as you need it to be. At least, that's the message I got. I'm so preoccupied with catching up with my Goodreads 2014 Challenge and reading all of the books I checked out from the library that I'm not too concerned with documenting What I Plan to Read. I'll try to get back on that in the next few weeks.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA

Uh, what can I say? I am not doing a good job of reading this month. I have excuses but they're not important. What is important to figure out, though, is why I'm not making reading a priority. Hmm ... well, I guess instead of spending time ruminating about that, I should just read!

What I did manage to read this week were both really great. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I'm a sucker for picture book biographies, and these two were each wonderful, insightful, and educational in their own ways. I highly recommend both.

I'm behind on my Goodreads 2014 Challenge, so I'm determined to catch up a bit in the next few days before my sister arrives for her visit on Friday. Wish me luck!

Ooh, now that I take a look at the books I read, what a disappointing week in terms of the number of books! I am reading a "grown up"nonfiction book as well, which I'm not including here, but still ...

Better get crackin' on the reading!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA

I'm still trying to get used to not having a dedicated time -- or requirement -- to read. When I was working in the library I had to read to plan for each week's lesson. You would think that being at home all day would afford me the opportunity to read quite a bit, but I haven't established a good "work" routine. Perhaps that's what I should work on this coming week ...
